Bempton is a quiet, rural village on Yorkshire's Heritage Coast. It has a railway station, bus stop, post office & general store, public house, church and a duck pond yet is only 3 miles from the resort of Bridlington, making it an ideal location for exploring the area.
Bempton is famous for it's 400ft chalk cliffs, nesting site to thousands of birds including puffins, razorbills, gannets and kittiwakes. It featured recently on the BBC2 'Coast' programme. A twenty minute stroll from our guesthouse takes you to the cliffs where the RSPB have an information centre and shop which is open all year. They keep a log of all birds sited each day, offer guided walks and hire out binoculars. There is a coastal path with view points where you can take photographs and watch the birds. If you are feeling energetic the path takes you around Flamborough Headland and all the way into Bridlington.
From Bridlington Harbour you can take a boat trip on the Yorkshire Belle and view the cliffs from the sea. Special Birdwatcher trips are run the the RSPB.
Bempton is very popular with cyclists as it is located on the National Cycle Network.
