Bempton is a quiet, rural village on Yorkshire's Heritage Coast.
It has a railway station, bus stop, post office & general store,
public house, church and a duck pond yet is only 3 miles from the
resort of Bridlington, an ideal location for exploring the area.
Bempton is famous for it's 400ft chalk cliffs, nesting site to thousands of seabirds including puffins, razorbills, gannets and kittiwakes. They are a spectacular sight and have featured recently on BBC's Springwatch. A twenty minute walk from our guesthouse takes you to the cliffs where the RSPB have an information centre and shop which is open all year. They keep a log of all birds sited each day, offer guided walks and hire out binoculars. There is a coastal path with view points where you can take photographs and watch the birds. Puffins usually arrive at the cliffs at the beginning of March and can be seen up until the end of July.
From Bridlington Harbour you can take a boat trip on the Yorkshire Belle and view the cliffs from the sea. Special Birdwatcher trips are run by the RSPB but these are very popular and must be booked in advance as places are limited.
Bempton is very popular with cyclists as it is located on the National Cycle Network.
